An employee paid €28,000 a year in twelve monthly salaries by one employer. Tax resident and domiciled in Cyprus, no other income, no children, and nothing claimed beyond the social insurance and GESY taken from the pay.

What to notice

  • Social insurance (8.8%) and GESY (2.65%) are the same in both years at this pay; only the income tax moves.
  • 2026 raises the tax-free band from €19,500 to €22,000 and widens the 20% band to €32,000. Income tax falls from €1,059 to €559, and €500 more stays with the employee over the year.
