TAXISnet or Tax For All: which Cyprus tax portal to use

The tax year of the return decides the portal, not the day you file it. Returns for tax years up to 2025 go to TAXISnet; from tax year 2026 the personal return is filed in Tax For All. Paying is a third site, the Tax Portal. This is what each one does today, and where your registration details, messages and bank account live.

Who this is for

You need this if

  • You are about to file a personal return and are not sure which site takes it.
  • Your tax number came through Tax For All and you have been told to file in TAXISnet, or the other way round.
  • You need to pay what a return assessed, change your bank account for refunds, or update your address with the Tax Department.

You do not need this if

  • You are looking for VAT, VIES or an employer’s payroll (PAYE) return. Those are filed and paid in Tax For All only, and this guide does not go into them.
  • You already know the portal and only need the steps of the 2025 return itself: the guide on filing the 2025 return covers them.

What to prepare

  • The tax year the return is for. That, not today’s date, decides the portal.
  • Your TAXISnet credentials. The same username and password open the Tax Portal, where tax is paid.
  • A Tax For All account, or a CY Login. With CY Login and a tax number you land straight in your own account.
  • To change the bank account the department pays refunds into: form T.D.2008 and a confirmation of the IBAN issued by your bank, in your name.

Steps

  1. 1

Start from the tax year of the return

The department states it on its personal return page: tax years 2017 to 2025 are filed exclusively through TAXISnet, and from tax year 2026 exclusively through Tax For All. Its announcement of 9 April 2026 says the same in two sentences: the 2025 return goes through the existing TAXISnet system, the 2026 return through the new Tax For All system with the reform built in. So a return for 2025 filed in October 2026 is a TAXISnet return, and a return for 2026 filed in 2027 is a Tax For All return.

  2. 2

    Know what TAXISnet still takes

TAXISnet is now used only for five direct-tax returns: the personal income return (T.D.1), the defence contribution withheld on interest (T.D.602) and on dividends (T.D.603), the company return (T.D.4) and the rent return (T.D.614). Every other return goes to Tax For All. For 2026, T.D.602 and T.D.603 are being moved to Tax For All and are temporarily not available in TAXISnet at all. If your tax number was issued through Tax For All, your TAXISnet account was created automatically one to three working days later, except for categories 92 and 93 (registered for immovable property only) and 99 (unverified). If your number predates Tax For All and you have no account, you register for TAXISnet yourself.

PracticeIf you do not know your tax identification code or the 17-digit TAXISnet registration number, the department names taxisnet@mof.gov.cy as the address to ask.

  3. 3

Know what Tax For All does already

Registration in the tax register happens only online through Tax For All, after creating an account there, and the tax number arrives by email. If a number already exists, the portal has a separate request for access to an existing taxpayer, so you do not register a second time. Contact details — telephones, addresses, email — are changed yourself under “Profile”; other registration details are changed on form T.D.2003, sent as a message from the Tax For All inbox (without portal access, by email to a district office), and you are told by email when the officer has done it. Messages to the department go through Inbox, New Message. Tax For All also carries VAT, VIES and employers’ PAYE returns and their payments, and from tax year 2026 the personal return.

  4. 4

Pay direct tax in the Tax Portal

Income tax, the defence contribution, GESY, provisional tax and the other direct taxes are paid in the Tax Portal, taxportal.mof.gov.cy, with the same credentials as TAXISnet. Its Statement of Due Amounts lists what you owe, whether it came from an assessment by the department, from a return finally submitted in TAXISnet, or from your own entry of self-assessment or provisional tax in the portal itself. Next to each payment reference you choose internet banking or a card. VAT and employer payments are not made here but in Tax For All. The guide on paying the balance goes through the screens.

  5. 5

Change the bank account for refunds in Tax For All

From 5 October 2026, a request to register or change the IBAN the department pays into is accepted only through Tax For All, after signing in with CY Login. In the portal: Inbox → New Message → “Forms” → “Bank Account Number – IBAN (T.D. 2008)”, answer “No” to whether it concerns a specific tax account, and attach the completed T.D.2008 with the bank’s IBAN confirmation. The account has to be in the name of the person to be paid. Requests sent any other way, by email for instance, are rejected from that date.

  6. 6

Expect the 2026 return in Tax For All in 2027

The return for tax year 2026 is filed during 2027, in Tax For All, by 31 July 2027. It is also the first year in which a Cyprus tax resident aged 25 to 70 files whatever their income. Nothing about it happens in TAXISnet.

Where people go wrong

  • Looking for the 2025 return in Tax For All because “everything has moved”. The return moves with tax year 2026; the 2025 return is filed in TAXISnet until its deadline.
  • Starting a new registration in Tax For All when you already have a tax number. The portal has a separate request for access to an existing taxpayer (Α.Φ.Τ.), made from your Tax For All account, for exactly this case.
  • Expecting TAXISnet to take the money. Final submission there creates the debt; it is paid in the Tax Portal.
  • Changing your address in the TAXISnet account and assuming the register follows. Contact details are changed in the Tax For All profile, other details on form T.D.2003.
  • Emailing a new IBAN to the department after 5 October 2026. From that date the request is accepted only through Tax For All with CY Login.
  • Calling 17700 with a tax question. The department says the line is staffed by technical support only and gives no tax guidance.

Anything marked “practice” is what the department does in the office, not a rule you can hold it to. Rules carry a source.

Questions

I am filing my 2025 return in October 2026. TAXISnet or Tax For All?

TAXISnet. The Tax Department states that tax years 2017 to 2025 are filed exclusively through TAXISnet, and it opened the 2025 filing season on 18 June 2026 in TAXISnet. What decides it is the tax year of the return, not the year you file it in.

Where will the 2026 return be filed?

In Tax For All, during 2027, with a deadline of 31 July 2027. The department announced on 9 April 2026 that the 2026 return will be filed through the new Tax For All system with the provisions of the tax reform built in.

Why do I have both a Tax For All and a TAXISnet account?

Because the move is not finished. Tax For All holds the tax register — your registration, contact details and messages — while TAXISnet still takes the personal return up to tax year 2025 and four other direct-tax returns. For taxpayers registered through Tax For All, the TAXISnet account is created automatically within one to three working days.

Where do I pay the tax my return shows?

In the Tax Portal, taxportal.mof.gov.cy, signing in with your TAXISnet credentials. The amount appears in the Statement of Due Amounts once the return has been finally submitted, and you pay it by internet banking or card against its payment reference. VAT and employer payments are the exception: they are paid in Tax For All.

How do I change the bank account my refund goes to?

From 5 October 2026, only through Tax For All after signing in with CY Login: a new message under “Forms”, topic “Bank Account Number – IBAN (T.D. 2008)”, with the completed T.D.2008 and your bank’s IBAN confirmation attached. The account must be in your name. Requests by email are rejected from that date.
